Chart-Topping Country Artist Luanne Hunt Breaks New Ground With CD Inspired By Hippie Generation

Astoria, New York (PressExposure) March 11, 2011 -- Taking a cue from the folk and pop legends of the 1960s and '70s, Grammy-balloted Indie recording artist Luanne Hunt delivers her unique brand of country/folk music on her newly released CD, "The Singles Sessions." Hunt's self-produced project features eight songs that reflect many of the innovative elements that endeared music to the masses during what became known as the "Hippie Generation."

Like most of the songs during that time, Hunt's tunes are laced with rich harmonies, creative licks and riffs, and plenty of ear-pleasing surprises. The Southern California resident says that attentive listeners will find there is not one note wasted on "The Singles Sessions," which is exactly the way it should be when it comes to making great music.

"I've always listened to songs very intently and have come to understand how groups like The Beatles, Mamas and Pappas and Simon and Garfunkel made all that magic," said Hunt, who is signed to Star Creek Records. "There were powerful creative forces that went into producing a song that were brought about by everyone involved, especially producers.

"Giving way to their passions, the artists, musicians, songwriters and producers threw all of their ideas into a giant pot with room for endless ingredients. Over and over again, they cooked up tunes that are best described as brilliant, soul-satisfying and timeless."

Hunt has faith that music lovers of all ages and backgrounds will connect with her artistic approach. She chose songs for "The Singles Sessions" that had strong, adaptable melodies and memorable hooks and lyrics.

"Luanne Hunt has delivered engaging melodies around well-crafted songs on her new CD "The Singles Sessions", said JC Caddy A&R Manager at Fairwood Music International (David Bowie, U2, Bob Marley, Cat Stevens). "She and her collaborators are clearly accomplished songwriters and the country/Nashville edge is very apparent."

Six of the tunes on "The Singles Sessions" are originals: "Carolina Moon," "My Old Kentucky Home Revisited," "Pine And The Dogwood," "Thorn," "Rainbow Day" and "It's Still I Do." Hunt also recorded a cover of Dan Fogelberg's 1981 smash single "Leader Of The Band," as well as the standard "It's Only A Paper Moon."

"The Singles Sessions" is a great album and the songs are beautiful," said DJ Rudy Minnaert of Terneuzen FM in the Netherlands. " Luanne has a very sweet and fantastic voice and it's very fine listen to."

Throughout her career as an Indie artist, Hunt has built an impressive list of accomplishments and a worldwide fan base with her refreshing and well-crafted country/folk tunes. Her 2007 CD, "Breaking Through," has produced two hit singles on U.S. and European charts. The enchanting "Solace In The Wind" reached No. 1 the European Country Music Association's chart (Belgium) in July 2010.
