Charyn Harris to Host Magical Evening with Music Legend Leon Ware

Los Angeles, (PressExposure) March 19, 2012 -- Charyn Harris community activist, educator in music and arts advocate will host a salon discussion, along with a musical performance by veteran music composer, songwriter and producer great Leon Ware, as Harris announces her candidacy for the 2013 Los Angeles City Council 9th. District.

On Saturday, March 24, 2012, at The Carolinian a private estate in View Park, candidate Charyn Harris will meet with an intimate community of supporters to hear dialogue and her positions, on economic development, affordable housing, public safety and higher education. Over the past 12 years, the candidate has served District 9 diligently by way of the non-profit sector through community-based services, commerce, and preserving the unique rich cultural history, of the district; in which she has built her professional career and where she resides. Harris's leadership presence in the district has already taken root as she has greatly impacted the community's development and employment opportunities. Her impact is recognized by being the recipient of the Pioneer Woman Award from Councilwoman Jan Perry, a stakeholder in Youth Orchestra Los Angeles (YOLA), a voting member of the Recording Academy, a member of the Quincy Jones Musiq Consortium, an Advisor of The Berklee City Music Network. Charyn has brought considerable value and increased visibility through her affiliations with community organizations, A Place Called Home, Artshare L.A. and by facilitating a thriving, popular partnership with the Berklee City Music Network in the community.

Ware will be on hand for the evening's acoustic performance and to greet guests. Other musicians are coming out in support of Harris such as Smooth Jazz, Grammy Award winner Kenny G.
