Chef Caron Announces Launch of Website

Spokane, WA (PressExposure) August 27, 2014 -- Chef Caron, a division of Rhotus LLC, released an enhanced and improved, newly designed version of the popular nonstick BBQ grill mat earlier this summer. The Chef Caron grill mat hit the market with great success, consistently receiving five-star ratings from customers and quickly becoming a top-seller.

The new Chef Caron website predominantly features the flagship product of the company (the nonstick BBQ grill mat) and explains in detail how and why the product was redesigned to the stringent Chef Caron specifications, how it differs from the many similar products on the market, and the philosophy behind the formation of the company.

Chef Dave Caron explains, "I'd been using them in my work for a while, and I kept thinking that it could be a great product with a few simple improvements. When I talked to my brother, we decided to go ahead and do it the Montana way - with accurate advertising and the best product possible."

The company, Chef Caron, was formed earlier this year by two brothers, Don and Dave Caron. The brothers bring an unusual diversity of skills and talent to the table. Don Caron is a filmmaker, composer and screenwriter based in Spokane, WA, and Dave Caron is a chef as well as a wrestling, football and baseball coach who works in the Flathead Valley of Montana.

The brothers came up with the idea for the new website while doing a fundraiser in Kalispell, Montana for the Evergreen Wrestling Club, which Chef Dave Caron has coached for several decades. The fundraiser featured a showing of Don Caron's latest family movie, Different Drummers, with proceeds from the showing going to the wrestling club.

Don Caron says, "When we were working together on the fundraiser it hit us that there were ways to combine our skills that we'd never realized before. The result was the formation of our company, Chef Caron."

Detailed information about the grill mats is available on the website, which will also feature recipes for use with the mats, tips about grilling in general and information about special sales and promotions.

Nonstick BBQ grill mats are a rather unusual product - a rectangle of PTFE-coated fiberglass cloth. PTFE is the same coating used in pans and other cookware, and is often referred to as Teflon, a product created by DuPont several years ago.

According to Chef Dave Caron, "An advantage our mats have over traditional nonstick cookware is the flexibility of the surface. This makes them more reliable and consistent for cooking, and also much easier to clean. They can also be cut to any size, something you can't do with a pan."

The nonstick mats are placed over the grates of an outdoor barbecue, and they make it possible to barbecue foods that used to be difficult or impossible to grill. They also eliminate the need to clean the barbecue grates.

According to information on, the Chef Caron mats differ from other mats on the market in several key ways. They are longer, as a way to ensure that the grease will drain on the edges of the BBQ and not fall directly onto the flames, and they have extra layers of PTFE to make the slicker and easier to clean. The additional PTFE also seals the edges so the mats won't fray, a common problem with other grill mats.

Chef Caron will be releasing more barbecue tools in the coming months. The Chef Caron Nonstick BBQ Grill Mats are exclusively available on Amazon and on the Chef Caron BBQ Grill Mat website.
