Chicago Poet Cairenn Rhys Releases New Collection: Upon Higher Ground

Chicago, Illinois (PressExposure) May 31, 2013 -- Cairenn Rhys' new poetry collection, "Upon Higher Ground-A Collection of Spirit Poetry" (ISBN: 978-1482042733) has been released and is now available on Amazon ( This is the second published collection for this Chicago-based spiritual poet and author of "Warrior of the Deepsake-Journal of a Spiritual Warrior".

"Upon Higher Ground" is a collection of spiritual poetry and prose - a passionate journey of love, the pain of separation and the yearning of the heart. The book begins with her poem, "As Above, So Below" inspired by Hermes' Emerald Tablet of Thoth, and concludes with the title selection, "Upon Higher Ground", a deeply reflective testament to the author's perseverance in life and love. Other poems include "Green Man" based upon the Arthurian legend.

Exploring the transcendence of loss to the height of Divinity, this collection speaks of the beauty of friendship, love, hope, nature and myth.


Cairenn Rhys, Spiritual Author & Poet, is a Chicago native, and has been writing for 30 years. She began her formal spiritual studies in 1999 at the Assn. of Research and Enlightenment (Edgar Cayce Foundation) under the instruction of Dr, Henry Reed, and went on to earn a Masters of Arts in Applied Spirituality/Transpersonal Studies with a concentration in Creativity from Atlantic University. Cairenn is an Animal Reiki Practitioner and Animal Communicator, in practice since 2004.

Her poem "Luna" (a collaborative submission with her close friend & nature photographer, David Pernick), will be released this summer in a book entitled "Luminous" by Synclectic Media, and her poem "The Ancients" (which can be found in her book, "Upon Higher Ground", will be featured in the Forward in a Young Adult novel by an Australian author later in 2013.
