San Antonio, TX (PressExposure) October 27, 2009 -- Citi today announced the appointment of John Jacobson as head of equity sales for Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong. John will jointly report to Adrian Faure, Citi Asia Pacific head of equities and Shahryar Mahbub, Citi Asia Pacific head of investor sales.

In his new role, John will be responsible for the entire Citi sales team across cash and derivatives product offerings. John will also work in close partnership with his counterparts in Tokyo and Sydney to offer clients the full benefits of our pan-Asian platform.

John joins Citi from Macquarie Securities where he was previously head of accounts management. He first moved to Asia in 1986 with Potter Warburg (later UBS) where he worked for 10 years in a variety of roles, including client management, head of ASEAN equities and head of distribution. After leaving UBS, John spent time at both Ellis Brady Management and Macquarie Securities in Hong Kong.
In the last few months, Citi has added key personnel to its equity business including the appointments of Adrian Faure as Asia Pacific head of equity sales, Joseph Chang as Asia Pacific head of equity trading and Paul Sanger as Asia Pacific head of execution services.
