Crewe, United Kingdom (PressExposure) January 29, 2009 -- Crewe-based marketing company SMART has successfully had its Investors in People Award renewed, following a comprehensive review of its staff development.
The IIP standard has ten key indicators that companies must satisfy to reach accreditation; these include the efficiency of the management structure, training provision, inter-departmental communication between staff and management and how the company achieves important elements within its business plan. To ensure IIP accredited companies retain the standard, it initiates a review every 3 years.
Following meetings with the management team, interviews with staff and close scrutiny of documentary evidence, the IIP assessment confirmed that SMART continues to meet the Investors in People Standard.
SMART's founder and director Heather Carter said: "We believe only skilled staff can deliver an excellent level of service for our clients, so we're set to continue working closely with Investors in People to maintain this high standard."
SMART first achieved IIP recognition back in 2005, and since then the company has seen a significant increase in staff numbers at its Crewe contact centre. This growth in the workforce however has not affected levels of investment in individual staff development, and the quality of SMART's training remains very high.
The Investors in People assessment highlighted many key strengths at SMART, including how it has an effective staff induction strategy that is supported by ongoing review processes and followed by good access to learning and development activities. The review also congratulated SMART on the high morale and motivation of its happy workforce.
Heather added: "We are particularly proud of the award as, even though we have increased our staff by nearly forty per cent, it reaffirms our continued strong commitment to their skills development.
SMART also actively encourages and supports its employees to gain qualifications that will support their future employability, with many staff currently working towards gaining Level II NVQs.
