DMV Approved Defensive Driving Online School Through National Driver Safety Services (NDSS)

Austin, Texas (PressExposure) June 19, 2009 -- With some changes to court regulations, it is now possible in many states to take court-ordered defensive driving courses online rather than in a classroom. Drivers who have been assigned to traffic school because they received a moving violation are turning to the Internet rather than the brick-and-mortar facility to complete their obligations.

One DMV approved defensive driving online school is provided by National Driver Safety Services (NDSS), a California company located at [] that offers classes in most regions. They also offer generic defensive driving courses online in all states nationwide, for those drivers who wish to brush up on their collision prevention techniques and are not completing the course for legal reasons.

“Traffic school used to have a bit of a stigma attached to it,” explains a representative from NDSS. “People didn’t want to be seen going there, because of the assumptions that others might make about them. But with our course, which you can take from home, a driver can learn about the latest laws, revisit basic safety tips, or guide their teen to a defensive driving class as a preventative rather than a punitive measure.”

Students in the course are free to log in and out at any time. Because the course is web-based, they do not install it on one computer, but instead can access it from any computer with an Internet connection. They log in to their unique account, work for as long as they like, then log out again. Passing the final exam triggers delivery of a certificate of completion, which can be taken to the court (if applicable) or filed in the driver’s personal records.

“Once someone has learned to drive, they usually never really get retrained,” the representative adds. “We offer that opportunity to keep drivers and their families safer than ever.”
