Jacksonville, FL (PressExposure) June 20, 2007 -- In the southern United States, while freedom rang for those afore bound by slavery; Tara Bell, Betty Mae, Daughter, and Lanel's journey to freedom was just getting started. Even as Tara Bell, Betty Mae and Daughter wrestled to find their own identities in the mist of puberty, a generation of tragedy and curses pursued them. Lanel became the glue to hold these spirits together.
For Daughter, a mother's love was taken away and replaced with resentment and contempt. Tara Bell silently mourned a father who walks out of his only child's life, perhaps chased away by the demons of an emotionally dysfunctional wife. Abandoned as an infant, Betty Mae fights for her right to be loved and encounters sexual bondage after being seduced and abused by the good Reverend. Lanel Wayne, or Boston as she is affectionately called, battles with the loss of her husband and letting go of the hate that might drive her to kill the one she considers responsible. Through each ones journey, friendship and family becomes a key to survival and God's plan for their lives involves a covenant that will transcend generations to come.
"Generational curses and inherited spirits are real", says the author, Robin L. Gooden. "Many of us have been told that we are, "just like your mama or have your daddy's eyes." However, what if that is not a good thing? Blood runs deep and this fictional story sheds light on the turmoil of having to start a life under a curse. Daughters of Babylon: the Covenant will sink into your soul and stir your spirit. "
Daughters of Babylon: the Covenant has an unpredictable ending that upholds a covenant which transcends generations.
