Seattle, WA (PressExposure) December 02, 2009 -- Door to Door Storage Inc., a leading national provider of portable self-storage containers and moving services, will participate for the 11th year in the Toys for Joy program. This toy collection effort is organized and supported by Kent Fire/Fire District 37, Kent Firefighters Local 1747, and the Kent Firefighters Foundation.
Door to Door⢠will donate nine on-site portable self-storage containers to the program, in addition to transportation and storage fees. The containers will be used to store all of the toys donated by the public.
"This year we have so many children and families to serve. We appreciate the help from Door to Door Storage to keep the toys we collect in a safe place until they can be wrapped," said Firefighter Paul Lyons, who oversees the program. "The Toys for Joy program helps to make this a happier holiday time for members of our community in need because of the help we receive from individuals and local businesses such as Door to Door."
Toys for Joy is an annual program that collects unwrapped toys then sorts, wraps and donates them to the Kent Food Bank for families in need. Some of the toys will also be delivered to other food banks in the area. In addition to toys, non-perishable food items are also being collected.

Both will go from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and members of the community are invited to participate. Door to Door employees will also join in this effort to help wrap the donated toys.
"Door to Door is pleased to participate once again in this tradition of helping the Toys for Joy program. It's one small way our Door to Door team can make a difference for families and children in our community," said Annette Jacobs, president and CEO of Door to Doorâ¢. "We encourage others to help out in this effort. Donate a toy and join us at the Wrapping Parties. It will help ensure that every child has a chance to celebrate the holidays."
