London, United Kingdom (PressExposure) July 28, 2009 -- A new company called EFM - Engage Focus Motivate has just been launched to deliver best practice in people engagement, strategy and fundraising to help make charities more successful. The partners are Jane Child from Interactions (HR, People Engagement and Development) and Andrew Entwistle of Salient Sales & Training (Marketing, Sales and Fundraising). Having each had vast experience in the commercial world as well as working with a number of charities, it was clear that bringing their specialist skills together was the way forward to provide a focussed and positive service to their clients.
Jane pointed out that "charities have a lot of great people at all levels, from volunteers to trustees. They all work very hard to raise money and provide services but more effective engagement of their people would make a huge difference to their success as a charity".
Andy added: "there are over 50 ways or events that charities can use to raise funds. Most we speak to only use 2 or 3. There are also currently 29 codes of conduct for fundraising but many are not being followed. We have found that few charities market themselves effectively. The higher the profile, the more funds they will collect; large companies do it successfully, so can charities."
Jane and Andy are keen to make a difference as both are aware of the many good causes needing support. "We are not a charity ourselves but a successful business. We offer services that will help charities properly define their vision, mission and objectives. We then coach and train them to enable implementation using proven business principles. Operating all or part of an EFM programme will make a big difference to any charity.
