Berlin, Berlin Deutschland (PressExposure) March 19, 2012 -- SensoMotoric Instruments (SMI), for more than 20 years a world leader in eye tracking technology, today launches the SMI RED-oem, a miniaturized, high-performance remote eye tracking platform. With a footprint of 154 x 25 mm and a weight of only 30g the SMI RED-oem electronics have a size that allows integration into virtually any screen based target application. Building on the successful high-performance SMI RED platform, SMI has developed a miniaturized remote eye tracker for OEM applications that covers an extremely wide range of performance parameters with sampling rates up to industry leading 120Hz. The device is connected and powered via a single USB port. The performance range, the flexible hardware integration options and the powerful SMI API and SDK allow for easy integration into applications ranging from gaming, over educational multimedia applications, multimodal interaction solutions to medical screening and diagnostics. The SMI RED-oem is designed for OEM-customers and their applications that need a cost efficient price point and a reliable way of integrating eye tracking. The performance and robustness level of the RED-oem allows contact-free acquisition of binocular gaze, 3D eye and head position with a head movement compensation which allows for large freedom of movement of participants in front of the eye tracker.
