Morton, MN (PressExposure) June 01, 2008 -- Altimate Medical and ABCâs âExtreme Makeover: Home Editionâ have teamed up to provide Ju-Juanaâs Latifâs son, James Perkins, with an EasyStand Evolv standing frame. The Latif family was chosen to have a new accessible home built for them by Extreme Home Makeover. Their inspiring story aired March 30th, 2008 on ABC.
Ju-Juanna Latif is a mom of four kids who has struggled through the challenges of being a high school drop out, teen mom, and living in a homeless shelter. Ju-Juanna was finally able to purchase her own home, but it was falling apart at the seams and not wheelchair accessible. With James, Ju-Juannaâs nine-year-old son being disabled, the home she owned was neither functional nor safe for her family.
The Latifâs new accessible home includes a therapy room for James full of fun and therapeutic activities recommended by Jamesâ doctors and therapists, including the EasyStand Evolv stander, donated by Altimate Medical. The EasyStand Evolv will allow James to stand up for the medical and psychological benefits to further his development.
Donating equipment to âExtreme Makeover: Home Editionâ is characteristic of Altimate Medicalâs continued support of charitable organizations that directly benefit people with disabilities. This is the fourth time that an EasyStand product has been featured on âExtreme Makeover: Home Editionâ.
