Eaton joins AMW at Desert Storm 2012 to celebrate successful business association

Pune, India (PressExposure) February 28, 2012 -- Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation has joined India's third largest manufacturer of heavy commercial vehicles Asia Motor Works (AMW) at Desert Storm 2012 to celebrate the successful business association between the two companies since 2008. AMW's participation in Desert Storm 2012 has made it the first truck maker in India to participate in the iconic rally. AMW is entering the rally with four specially modified trucks in the 'Ndure' category of the event, which flagged off from New Delhi on February 20, 2012, and ended in Ahmedabad on 25th February, 2012.

Eaton partnership with AMW at Desert Storm 2012 is aimed at highlighting the 6-speed and 9-speed gear-boxes it supplies to India's fastest growing truck brand's wide range of product programs including Tippers, Transit Mixers and Cargos.

With nearly 15,000 AMW vehicles on road with Eaton's gear-boxes, since 2008, Eaton has emerged as a significant contributor to AMW's innovative engineering and customer orientation efforts. Currently, more than 80% of AMW vehicles produced are fitted with Eaton gear boxes.

"AMW's partnership with Eaton has been a winning one. Our success is built on the shared vision to address specific end-market requirements in India. Eaton's strong capability in delivering and engineering application specific products has played a key role in powering this collaboration." commented Anirudh Bhuwalka, Managing Director & CEO, AMW.

Recently, at Auto Expo 2012, AMW launched a range of world class, next generation trucks. AMW's major product programs displayed at the expo included the 4928 Tractor New Generation and 3723 Truck which come with Eaton's 9-speed Twin Countershaft gear-box. AMW also displayed the Magnus Bus that comes with Eaton's 6-speed Retarder Compatible gear-box.

"Eaton's partnership with AMW for its indigenous product programs is a reiteration of Eaton's strong commitment to the market in India.
