About Ed Tilley Ed started karting in 1992 at the age of 8 in the 60cc Cadet Class in England. Initially run by his father, Ed learnt the trade very quickly. Several victories and championships later, Ed followed in the footsteps of fellow team mates Lewis Hamilton (Mc Laren F1) and Alex Lloyd (Indy Car) and made the jump into cars in 2000. Sponsor commitments prevented Ed from competing in Open Wheel Formula Cars so he opted for selected rounds of the Clio Cup Winter Series.
After brief spells in Caterhams and Formula Ford, Ed joined Jenson Button's former F3 team, Promatecme, with the aim of competing in the 2006 Lloyds TSB British International Formula 3 Championship. However due to a family bereavement Ed was forced to pull out of the championship.
In 2007 a friend of Ed's gave him the opportunity to go to America and spend the day with an ARCA team. After a successful day Ed was offered a place at the team for the 2009 Late Model Series and beyond.
