Being from a city that is known for poverty, crime, and hopelessness, Fluid rose up out the bowels of economic impoverishment to find his gifts and talents as a writer, actor, and activist in Los Angeles, Ca. "I felt it was time and plus with the inspiration from my community, I knew that this poetry book Literacy Movement Vol.1 could impact and motivate people to read more and possible take action in their community" say Fluid.

After receiving a volunteer of the year award from the Christ Enrichment Center and being spotlighted in his hometown newspaper The Flint Journal for his community work, Fluid became a published author and his on a mission to promote literacy and in his words "make reading cool" With real life poetry pieces such as "PE20",about his life on tour with Flavor Flav and Public Enemy, a piece that is an ode and celebration of women everywhere, "Seeds of a Woman", and the very moving piece about Hurricane Katrina entitled, "Katrina Speaks", Fluid wants the world to share his thoughts and as he says"start your own movement."
