Dubai, United Arab Emirates (PressExposure) June 27, 2009 -- A interesting survey conducted on publicly available data from Google shows that Florida is the hottest real estate related search in English on the internet.
In general, searches for real estate in the United States occupy the first three spots in the classification, with California and New York following behind Florida as the most popular searches.
London has the highest volume of real estate searches outside of the United States, in a classification that sees Singapore, Washington, Vancouver also make the top ten.
Based on data from Google Insights and other tools, the top five real estate searches are:
1. Florida 2. California 3. New York 4. London 5. Dubai
Searches for real estate in Florida, California and New York are made mainly within North America, and likewise searches for London are made mostly within the United Kingdom.
The search with the widest international spread is Dubai property, with a high volume of searches coming from UK, US, India, Europe and the Middle East.
Data shows that France is the most popular overseas market for UK internet users, with Spain following shortly behind.
Although the data shows definite trends, it is extremely difficult to analyze and conclusions cannot be drawn. The domination of US based real estate searches could be attributed possibly to the higher number of internet users in the region.
Furthermore, the analysis reflects searches made in the English language only, and the data may have a certain margin of inaccuracy.
