London, United Kingdom (PressExposure) November 24, 2012 -- ForestNation have today announced the official launch of their seasonal 'Winter Wonder Woodland' Christmas campaign which has been specially tailored to schools and PTAs.
Running from November and through to the New Year, the Winter Wonder Woodland campaign is designed to give schools and PTAs an eco-friendly alternative fundraising option this holiday season. ForestNation are urging schools to forgo traditional non-sustainable products in their fundraising efforts this year and to instead offer ForestNation's special decoratable snowball tree kits for sale to parents, friends and family. Each snowball tree kit comes in the form of a white globe which contains six to 10 White or Norway spruce tree seeds, a growing pot and pellet, an instruction booklet and a unique code to register on the website. The globe is made from a biodegradable and compostable potato waste and can be decorated in a number of ways. This combined with the eyelet on top of the globe means a decorated snowball tree kit can be hung on the tree over the Christmas period just like any other bauble. Once Christmas is over, the snowball can then be cracked open to allow the recipient to grow their own trees at home.
Along with the snowballs, as part of the campaign ForestNation have created a number of Christmas- and ForestNation-related learning materials including seasonal math worksheets, problem solving puzzles and fun word search games - all specially tailored to be used in schools and suitable for a variety of age ranges. ForestNation have also designed a variety of unique Christmas-themed craft guides, or craftables, for children that can be enjoyed at school as part of a lesson, or in the home with mum and dad.
For every snowball tree kit purchased through the Winter Wonder Woodland campaign, and as part of their on-going commitment to turning the world into a true forest nation, ForestNation will plant another tree in a developing nation to encourage sustainable growth, meaning that if 10,000 tree kits are sold another 10,000 trees will also be planted to join the forests of the world.
Andrew Pothecary, Managing Director at ForestNation, said: "Christmas is the season of goodwill and with that in mind we wanted to create a winter campaign that truly embodied our principles and the spirit of the holidays. With the Winter Wonder Woodland campaign, we want parents and teachers to give the gift of a green future this Christmas and raise much needed funds for their school at the same time. This way, ForestNation hope that we can encourage schools to teach their students to think positively about the beautiful world we want to live in and make it a reality."
