Free e-Waste Pickups in NYC

New York, NY (PressExposure) December 30, 2009 -- The 4th Bin, an e-waste rescue and recycling provider, is offering free e-waste pickups to all Manhattan residents and businesses beginning in January 2010.

The 4th Bin will pickup unused, unwanted, obsolete or broken electronic products – ranging from servers, desktops, screens, printers, fax machines, televisions, VCR, CD and DVD players, cameras, and cell phones, as well as household appliances including your old toaster – regardless of condition. Discarded equipment will then be recycled in an environmentally and ethically responsible manner.

“Electronics are the number one gift given during the holiday season,” says Michael Deutsch, COO of the 4th Bin. “Now that you have a new LCD TV, our company can responsibly dispose of your old tube television.”

The 4th Bin has also initiated a program – “Cell Phones For Food” – where a portion of proceeds from all cell phones and mobile devices collected and recycled until the end of February will be donated to City Harvest, an organization that rescues food to feed New York’s hungry.

“As of July 1, 2010, residents and business in New York City must properly dispose of e-waste," says Deutsch. “We are getting a jump on the law by offering residents and business, a free, easy way to be responsible right now.”
