The first version of MDT appeared in May 2006. At that time it was just an extended Magik code editor. Since then MDT has become an efficient IDE providing performance boost, supporting Smallworldâ¢ CST 3.2.1 - 4.1.1 versions and delivering enhanced features for building and managing Smallworldâ¢ applications. The development plan of MDT is scheduled for the next few years. Thanks to GE Energyâs support ASTEC plans to publish a new MDT release compatible with the incoming Smallworldâ¢ CST version in 2010. Strong cooperation with GE Energy is essential for providing Smallworldâ¢ community with the new powerful development environment.
In June 2009 ASTEC started selling MDT Professional Edition. The satisfied users all-round the world are the best reference for this new development environment. The MDT offer is supplemented with customer support, training courses and software development services.
