Irving, TX (PressExposure) January 13, 2009 -- ABOUT GAMUT CONTROL:
Gamut Control has revolutionized digital fine art reproduction by combining the use of available high-end hardware and software with their own proprietary specialized software into a next generation process. It begins with a rigorous image-capture technique where the original painting is photographed numerous times to capture each tiny detail in the original artwork. This digital file is then transferred pixel by pixel to the final canvas by their state-of-the-art printers, which have been altered to print in ways that no other printers can print. They are able to stretch the gamut of their high end, wide format inkjet printer to ensure that each color is accurately portrayed. Their prints are completely faithful reproductions of the originals in all their brilliant colors and textures. Gamut Controlâs technology has completely done away with the need for profiles and color correction since their system simply takes the original and duplicates it. This proprietary system developed by Gamut Control is not available anywhere else. Archival pigment inks, the highest quality canvases, and a hand applied varnish guarantee longevity and stability in the print no matter the display conditions.
ABOUT JOHN MARIN:
Mr. Marin began his artistic journey about six years ago when he was inspired to decorate his own apartment. His goal was to paint for himself but after many of his friends commented on how wonderful his work was, he began to look at painting as a career. This is when he discovered his unique varnishing technique. After much trial and error, he found the product he currently uses, which is a polymer UV coating. Unlike Epoxy resin, it protects against more of the sunâs harmful UV radiation and makes the painting last much longer. This product is also inexpensive, easy to find, and stays clear allowing the colors and textures to be stunningly enhanced in ways that normal varnishes cannot achieve.
The only downfall to this polymer UV coating, is that it is highly caustic and a can severely damage the central nervous system during application. Marin must wear a ventilation mask, gloves, and long sleeves when using this product, so it is quite a task to endure! John has had several showings in Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Long Beach, Seal Beach, and Beverly Hills, CA, Las Vegas, NV, Amherst, NH, and Dallas, TX. His works have also been showcased on television shows as part of the set decoration, including Mad TV, Lincoln Heights, ER, Miss Guided, and Kath and Kim. Gamut Control and John Marin have plans to open a new facility in Los Angeles where Mr. Marin will be able to spread his gift by offering his technique to other artists. John believes in providing the best quality product possible and enjoys helping other artists achieve the same goal.
