Generating Exposure for Amateur Artwork on the Internet

Cambridge, Ontario Canada (PressExposure) March 14, 2007 -- Canadian entrepreneur and photographer Sol Algranti, and Internet developer Gerry Fung, have developed a website to allow artists from all over the world to post and share their photographs, paintings, and artwork with those who want to decorate their walls for free. Founded 3 years ago in Cambridge Ontario, is quickly being known as the "YouTube" for artists.

Their objective is accomplished through a website which allows home, apartment, condo owners, and office staff to download and print high quality 8.5" x 11" photographic prints from artists who are eager to exhibit their work. The website also provides web surfers with the option to contact the artist directly, in order to purchase larger print sizes.

"It remains difficult for artists to gain exposure to art galleries, magazines, and other traditional media sources because they are automatically considered amateurs," explained artist and business owner Sol Algranti, "...but that's the essence of; ordinary artists showcasing their extraordinary work."

The founders of, Sol Algranti and Gerry Fung, developed the idea based on their diverse but complementary backgrounds. Sol, a well-respected businessman who was trained as a mechanical engineer, was always interested in photography and art ever since he received his first camera 45 years ago. Sol was drawn towards his art due to the fact that his photography allowed him to express himself creatively. The emergence of his artistic flare helped balance his stressful work life. Thus, he has always wanted to spread the enjoyment he receives from photography to individuals around the globe.

Sol was exposed to the power of the Internet upon meeting Gerry. Gerry, a computer engineer graduate and Laurier MBA student, devised the idea of using the Internet to help promote the artwork of lesser-known artists. This, coupled with the public demand for free photographic prints, was the basis behind the entire endeavor. For Sol and Gerry, this venture was never considered work, but it was always fun because it was in line with their core beliefs.

Both Sol and Gerry believe that the economy is rapidly moving from one that emphasizes information to one that emphasizes creativity. The new economy already features such leaders as, which is able to combine both technical expertise and art. Going forward, plans on benefiting from the changing economy through the development of its young and creative new minds.
