God's Love Connection is Prayer

Highland, Utah (PressExposure) August 11, 2009 -- The date was December 28, 1999 early evening, when I received a phone call telling me that my Son was being transported to LDS hospital. I will never forget that mind numbing moment, the scared feeling in my stomach knowing that my Son was in critical danger.

Just minutes before, I was packing with excitement and looking forward to spending New Years Eve at Bryce Canyon with friends. Suddenly, the only thing that mattered was getting to the hospital. I remember how fiercely it was snowing. It seemed like forever before I reached my son in ICU.

Soon after, the doctor came out to tell us that Michael was in chronic kidney failure. He was in critical condition and might not make it.

That was ten years ago! I will spare you all of the gruesome details, but I can tell you life is precious and fragile. The unfortunate part of this whole story is, one year later after that scary night in December, I donated a kidney to Michael. Within two months Michael rejected the kidney and was back on dialysis every other day. Dear God, help us!

Twenty five major surgeries in the last ten years have taken a toll on Michael, but his spirit is still shining. Michael is "beating the odds" and has such a "strong will to live" and a sense of humor that just warms the hearts of all.

Believe me with God all things are possible!

Isn't it amazing how hardships can give us strength and courage, open our hearts bring families closer together and teach us about blessing others?

Love is such a strong connection between people that needs no explanation, it is just there! The true nature of love is the strongest force in any relationship. It has been proven that people who are in supportive and loving relationships are happier, healthier, live longer and are more productive.

We have often wondered about our family, where we would be today, if this painful circumstance had not occurred. My son and I have talked about this many times. Without a doubt, it was our Father's gentle spirit that has been present every moment of everyday giving us our daily miracles.

Believe me we have all been on our knees praying and have had our prayers answered every single day! Prayer is a strong love connection to God! My hope is to give you encouragement to "beat the odds" through your prayers!
