New York City, New York (PressExposure) January 19, 2012 -- Statista, the platform for market data and statistics on over 60,000 topics, and HARRASSOWITZ, the international booksellers and subscription agents, are attending the American Library Association (ALA) Midwinter Meeting in Dallas, Texas. The congress will take place from January 20 to January 24 2012, and will host over 10,000 librarians and academic experts from the American university system. Previously in December, 2011, the two companies formed a partnership to promote Statista's unique database to the North American academic community. At the ALA Midwinter Meeting, Statista and HARRASSOWITZ will introduce the database for the first time collectively to the United States' leading consortia and universities.
In conjunction with the ALA Midwinter Meeting, Statista will introduce its successful Teaching & Research Program to the North American academic community. This program gives university professors and researchers free, unlimited access to Statista for one academic year. The only condition for participation in the Teaching & Research Program is a link to http://www.statista.com on your research or department webpage. Over 2,500 professors and researchers already participate in the Teaching & Research Program worldwide. All departments are eligible for participation by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Statista is used by over 800,000 students at more than 150 leading universities in the United States, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and the Netherlands, as well as leading international corporations, law firms, and advertising agencies (McKinsey & Company, BCG, Daimler AG, T-Mobile, etc.). Our database has won numerous awards from the Financial Times, Red Herring, and the German government for innovation.
Statista has more public data than any other statistical resource on the web and grows at an average rate of 500 new stats per day. It includes information from more than 10,000 renowned business and public information sources; over 3,000 market studies; and 1,000 industry reports from Statista's own analysts. The platform can generate customizable graphs in multiple formats from any search results set, that can then be integrated with presentation and reporting applications such as PowerPoint and Excel.
The Libraryjournal wrote Statista is a sleek database aggregating statistics and data sets from an impressive variety of fields ...Statista's interface is elegant and incredibly user-friendly, especially in comparison to some sources of free statistics."
We look forward to seeing you at our booth during the Midwinter Meeting and answering your questions!
