Mebane, North Carolina (PressExposure) May 28, 2013 -- Head On Management and Booking is proud to announce their first summer showcase featuring the music of New Town Drunks, Michael Rank & Stag, Wood Ear, The Fair & the Foul, Mark Holland, Tom Maxwell, John Howie Jr, Salt to Bitters and more. The showcase will take place on Saturday, June 8th at Southern Rail in Carrboro starting a 5:00pm. The music will begin outside and move inside after sundown.
Head On Management has selected eight choice acts and a few surprises from its extensive roster of North Carolina roots artists to launch its first summer showcase. Headlining the show will be New Town Drunks who are releasing a new album, Kiss, on May 28th. Also performing are Michael Rank & Stag who are riding a wave of acclaim for their February release, In the Weeds, while also preparing for a second 2013 release, Mermaids, later this year. Wood Ear, The Fair and the Foul and Salt to Bitters will bring their fresh passionate takes on personal southern folk, rock, and indie. And veterans Mark Holland (Jennyanykind), Tom Maxwell (Squirrel Nut Zippers) and John Howie Jr (John Howie Jr and the Rosewood Bluff), will play solo sets to round up a showcase that will celebrate the wealth and depth of North Carolina music.
The showcase is also sponsored by Southern Rail, whose proprietors Michael and Christina Benson will be renewing vows at the showcase to celebrate 20 years of marriage.
Head On Management and Booking has gathered under its fold an impressive number of talented North Carolina acts. Both newcomers and veterans have found a home where direct action is being taken on their behalf without compromising their independence.
