Hotel Indigo London, Paddington Opens Its Doors

London, United Kingdom (PressExposure) January 21, 2009 -- The world's largest hanging basket was created to mark the opening of Hotel Indigo London Paddington and hangs 25 feet (7.5 metres) from the ground level on the front wall of the building. The 20 foot by 10 foot (six metre by three metre) structure weighs over 250 kilograms and took 3 weeks for a team of engineers, designers and gardeners to construct and includes more than 100 different varieties of seasonal flowers and plants.

Hotel Indigo London Paddington is a new boutique hotel, which makes changes to its décor in line with the changing seasons to keep the hotel feeling brand new and interesting for guests. Karin Nielsen, spokesperson for Hotel Indigo, comments: "Our hotel is all about unique design, bold colours and seasonal changes so what better way to mark its arrival in the UK than by creating the world's largest hanging basket. We've taken our inspiration from the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and hope that our hanging garden will become a wonder of London."

The hotel, the first Hotel Indigo outside North America, is owned and operated by London Town Hotels Ltd under licence from Six Continents Hotels, Inc..
