London, United Kingdom (PressExposure) September 02, 2014 -- Press Release:
Marketing agency Earnest chosen for the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2017
The International Cricket Council has recently appointed award winning marketing and design agency Earnest to provide the competition brand identity and design services for the eagerly anticipated ICC Women's Cricket World Cup, which will be held in England and Wales in 2017. The new competition brand will be unveiled later this year to partners and officially launched after the Men's Cricket World Cup Final in March 2015.
The competition will showcase the best of Women's elite cricketing talent from Australia, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and West Indies, who will all compete in the 50 over per side tournament. The ICC in partnership with the ECB chose Earnest following a response to the RFP from a wealth of interested international marketing agencies.
Steve Elworthy, Managing Director of Global Events and Marketing at the ECB, said: "Earnest demonstrated innovation, creativity and an in-depth strategic understanding of the competition's values and target market. We are confident that we will take the competition forward with their creative direction to deliver an innovative brand identity that reflects both the host nation and the increasingly competitive nature of the tournament."
The inaugural Women's Cricket World Cup was held in 1973 and has since grown greatly in stature and importance in promoting and expanding the game of Women's cricket on a global scale.
Alistair Gammell, Managing Director of the Sports and Entertainment division at Earnest, said: "We are delighted to be chosen by the ICC for this prestigious and exciting project. Since forming in 2009, Earnest has been involved with the marketing of some great sporting events, and we very much look forward to working with ICC to make the 2017 ICC Women's World Cup the best one yet."
