Iberotel Luxor Hosts FIFA U-20 2009 Journalists

Cairo, Egypt (PressExposure) April 24, 2009 -- The team of 50 journalists, senior sports journalists, and chief auditors of the major daily and weekly Egyptian newspapers, who attended the Youth Football World Cup 2009, were accommodated in one of Jaz Hotels, Resorts & Cruises finest properties, Iberotel Luxor. It is considered the perfect choice in Upper Egypt for meetings, incentives, and conferences, and it is situated in an advantageous location on the banks of the Nile, enjoying the lovely views of the river.

The FIFA U-20 17th final draw was held at the Luxor Temple, determining the destiny of 24 qualifying teams. The draw ceremony was inaugurated with a brief documentary highlighting short aspects of tourism and holiday destinations in Egypt, and then the guests were welcomed at the site by a vivid parade that portrayed the prosperity and the diversity of the cultures and traditions of Egypt.

The speeches were commenced by Minister of Sports, Hassan Sakr, and Egyptian FA President, Samir Zaher, and FIFA vice-president and chairman of the Organizing Committee for the FIFA U-20 World Cup, Jack Warner, who took the stage. He stated “This is the finest location for a draw ceremony I’ve ever experienced. We’ve never before held a draw at such a historically significant site. We’re delighted that Egypt is hosting this tournament, and we’re sure it will be a wonderful World Cup with five outstanding venues.”
