Williamsport, PA (PressExposure) October 13, 2011 -- KDKA's weekly show, "The Marcellus Shale and You" had Joe Barone, President, of ShaleDirectories.com, as its guest host this past Saturday. This week's program focused on the Utica Shale gas and oil play in Ohio and Governor Corbett's Marcellus Shale Plan. Subbing for Tejas Gosai, president of the marcellusshale.com, Barone had Rick Stouffer, editor, Gas Business Briefing, as his in-studio guest and call-in guest Tom Stewart, Executive Director, Ohio Oil and Gas Association.
Barone discussed with Stewart that status of the Utica Shale drilling in Ohio along with the state's attitude toward natural gas drilling. Stewart provided insight into the political picture and explained how the industry has worked with politicians to prepare the state for Utica Shale drilling. Barone commented that Aubrey McClendon, Chesapeake Energy Chairman, is very bullish on Utica Shale drilling in Ohio.
Barone and Stouffer reviewed the Governor's Marcellus Shale Plan with emphasis on the Impact Fee and Usage. Stouffer stated that Ohio's very favorable attitude toward the natural gas industry could make the Governor and Pennsylvania politicians a little wary of pushing industry too far. The natural gas operators could very easily move their rigs to Ohio. The other focus of the show was on Governor Corbett's plan for "Green Corridors" which is a compressed natural gas stations every 50 miles on key highways throughout the commonwealth. Response to this idea is very favorable because everyone realizes the cost savings from compressed natural gas versus gasoline.
Barone will occasionally be a guest host on the show. Barone stated, "The Marcellus Shale and You is an ideal forum for KDKA listeners to be kept apprised all the activity associated with the Marcellus Shale drilling as well as its impact on local economies and individuals."
