Mumbai, India (PressExposure) October 14, 2011 -- 500 teams and still counting, Mumbai's local Gully teams rush their registrations to compete in the forthcoming "BLACPOWER Batting Challenge" -ideated by Tilaknagar Industries Ltd. (TI).
The much-awaited BLACPOWER Batting Challenge kick starts on Friday, 14th October where various teams from the different gullies of Mumbai like Lalbaug Commandos, Chakala Champions and Azad Nagar Heroes shall show their batting prowess on the field. The Challenge aims to bring out batting talent from the streets of Mumbai and give them their moments of glory.

The BLACPOWER Batting Challenge is being organised in six zones - Worli, Sion-Dharavi, Lalbaug-Parel-Dadar, Mazgaon-Sewri-Wadala, Ghatkopar-Mulund and Andheri-Goregaon and the winners of each zone shall battle it out with each other at the Grand Finale on Sunday, 23rd October at Jamboli Ground, Worli. The Batting Challenge will be played in a unique format popular with the city's youth and cash prizes of over Rs.3 lakh to be won during the Challenge.
Entries are pouring in every day, and are expected to cross 800 by the time BLACPOWER Batting Challenge begins. The finale promises to be a grand show with dance, music, fireworks and fun-filled entertainment.
