New York, NY (PressExposure) August 07, 2011 -- It's an all-day kid's extravaganza as Wizard World Chicago Comic Con presents "Kid's Day" on Sunday, August 14, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center. Kid-friendly activities include meeting (and taking pictures with) characters like the lovable "Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!® from the Nickelodeon® series, Disney® princesses, favorite superheroes and "The Defuser," plus face painting, balloon art, the impossibly cute Kids Costume Contest and a special reading of "My Favorite Giant" by author Peter Mayhew, well-known for having portrayed "Chewbacca" in STAR WARS.
Kids can stop by the Wizard World Digital Booth and pick up a free Wizard World Kids Adventure Passport, to complete activities all over Chicago Comic Con and get a prize at the end of their journey. Parents can look for the "Kid-Friendly" button on activities, vendors, booths and sessions throughout the convention center.
Some of the special programming for kids includes learning "How to be a Hero" with Jarrett Crippen, a.k.a. "The Defuser" from "Who Wants to be a Superhero" (noon); a "Draw Like a Superhero" session with Eisner Award winners Franco Aureliani and Art Baltazar (1 p.m.); the Costume Contest (2 p.m.); and "My Favorite Giant" reading (3 p.m.).
Kids can also take their best shot at STAR WARS' "Jar Jar Binks" with a Nerf blaster rifle at the 501st Legion Midwest Garrison's "Shoot-Jar Jar" Game, with all donations benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
