North Lane, United Kingdom (PressExposure) April 22, 2009 -- To celebrate the launch of its new software arm, Kinobo has decided to give away free webcams and headsets to the first users of its new Live Meeting service. Depending on the length of contract users sign up to, they will be offered one of three Microsoft lifecams.
Live Meeting is the staggering new video conferencing software from Microsoft which allows users to collaborate on files, remotely assist other users and record training events. The licenses come in two versions, Standard and Professional - the main difference being the number of participants that can attend each meeting.
The software marks a departure for Microsoft who has in the past sold its software on a per-computer license model. Instead, the partnership between Microsoft and Kinobo means that the licenses can be offered on a per-month basis. The monthly fee means that users don't have to worry about big upfront costs when committing to the software.
It also contains a Live Meeting Conference Center; hosted by Microsoft, this contains all files and recordings that have been used in previous meetings, that can be accessed from any computer in the world. The Conference Center also allows scheduling of meetings as well as an instant Meet Now feature. As web conferencing software goes, Live Meeting does a great job letting colleagues around the world meet virtually and collaborate instantly
