Beijing, China (PressExposure) December 07, 2009 -- The Secretary of Commerce and the Trade Ambassador accompanied the US President Barack Obama on his first official visit to China. This is not, however, the first official trip for Secretary Locke. He came to China and addressed the AmCham-China and the USCBC members this past July. During the briefing, Secretary Locke and Ambassador Kirk addressed the AmCham-China and the USCBC about the President's official visit to China, its implications on the China-US relationship and economic cooperation and their involvement in the Joint commission on Commerce and Trade, held in late October. The Briefing was followed by a town-hall style meeting opened to questions from the audience.
AmCham-China, the hosting organization, is a major player in China dedicated to the promotion of international trade and economic cooperation between China and US. AmCham-China has branches in several major Chinese cities, including Beijing and Shanghai.
