Leap Into Effective Meetings Using RARA Book

Lewisville, Texas (PressExposure) February 29, 2008 -- Are meetings occurring more often in the business world? Are those meetings as productive as they could be? Shirley Fine Lee feels that meetings could be more effective and now is the time to leap into better meetings. She also notes that people need to determine which meetings should occur and what information needs to be shared using a different method. In her book, “R.A!R.A! A Meeting Wizard’s Approach” she provides a unique look at meetings and how to make them more effective.

The book starts by talking about the cost verses value of meetings. It then explains what the eleven-step meeting management process should be. Then it lists the different types of meetings and methods for holding meetings. It also provides a checklist to help plan meetings, a form that may be used to develop presentations, and sample meeting notifications.

Several pages of the book are devoted to utilizing what Ms. Lee calls the R.A!R.A! Approach. RARA is an acronym that stands for meeting components of assigning relevant roles, creating a good agenda, distributing meeting records, and doing outside action items. To aid the reader, she has provided useful examples of each of these components. Using these components makes for more efficient and effective meetings.

Of course the author realizes that meetings are seldom perfect. Near the end of her book, Ms. Lee provides samples of what behaviors and attitudes could cause meeting problems. Then she suggests ideas for reducing the problem and possible impact on the meeting. A meeting evaluation form is also provided in the book to help meeting attendees determine how to better improve future meetings.

To make meetings more effective, take the leap and read this meeting management book. It is only 57 pages and can be quickly read. It also makes a great reference tool. The book “R.A!R.A! A Meeting Wizard’s Approach” by Shirley Fine Lee may be found on http://www.Amazon.com and other bookseller sites under ISBN 1419653679.
