Norwich, United Kingdom (PressExposure) September 17, 2009 -- The singer is featured of the front cover as part of Elle's build up to London Fashion Week, which is celebrating 25 years this September. The powers that be at the magazine have obviously changed their opinion about her; it was not so long ago that she was described as "a person who is not overly trendy in her fashion choices." The issue also features her modelling the creations of some of London's top fashion designers in a photoshoot directed by prestigious photographer, Rankin.
Lily's move towards fashion started back in 2007 when she created her own line, Lily Loves, for high street store New Look. This year has seen her expand the modelling side of her career further, with a campaign for Chanel luxury handbags and the design of her own jewellery line.
Despite modelling for Chanel, Lily still feels insecure about her body, and even turned to hypnotism to lose weight. "I don't feel comfortable modelling," she admints. "It's not something that comes naturally to me, especially when I'm working with fashion photographers because they're used to working with really tall, skinny and beautiful models and I'm very aware that I'm 5ft 2in and a size 12."
Lily has been looking stunning at her festival shows this summer, thinner but still healthy, and she looks great modelling bleach-blonde hair for the shots in Elle. It's refreshing to have someone in the public eye who isn't super-thin. Let's hope hanging out with Kate Moss doesn't change her!
