Managers Get Unique Risk Management Workshop Facilitation

Taylors, SC (PressExposure) February 09, 2009 -- Certified Professional Behavioral Analyst and Safety Specialist Annette Estes, with The Estes Group in Taylors, SC, will conduct a half-day risk management facilitation session for the Apartment Association of Greater Columbia on Thursday, February 19, 2009, entitled, "Risk Management: People, Profiles, and Performance."

Participants will complete The Estes Group's unique, patented Job Benchmarking process. They will benchmark the job of maintenance supervisor to determine the Key Accountabilities, ideal behaviors, and attitudes that the job requires for superior performance. The focus of the workshop will be on hiring, managing, and retaining the safest workers.

"It's important to benchmark the job itself rather than the people in the job," Estes says, "because managers will get a more accurate picture of exactly what they're looking for when hiring new maintenance supervisors and managing current ones."

The process involves determining the Key Accountabilities maintenance supervisors must perform for the job to exist. The group will then complete two job benchmarking assessments to determine the behaviors and attitudes the job requires of the ideal apartment maintenance supervisor.

"Facilitating the Job Benchmarking process in a training situation with a large group of people will be a challenge for me," says Estes. "I normally do it with a small group of people who work for the same company."

Estes will also deliver the keynote address at the conference's dinner entitled, "Five Keys to Leadership Mastery."

The workshop will be conducted from 8:30 AM until 12:30 PM for the AAGC's monthly meeting at the Embassy Suites in Columbia.
