Potomac Falls, Virginia (PressExposure) September 24, 2009 -- Do you have what it takes to play professional basketball? NBA Star George Muresan does, and he wants to share what he knows. "Physical fitness is the key," says George, who played for the Washington Bullets and the New Jersey Nets. "Being fit affects every part of your life, from your physical and mental ability to how you look and feel," George adds. "If you have it, you'll be confident and self-assured."
So, you ask, how do you get physically fit? In The Boy's Fitness Guide, George gives readers all the nuts and bolts on how to do it. "We start by getting young men to think about physical fitness as a package consisting of exercise, eating the right food, and caring for their bodies," says George. "Just lifting weights in the gym doesn't work."
Long-time friend, Rares "Nick" Morar, helped George develop The Boy's Fitness Guide. Today, Nick is a full-time certified personal trainer, but he is also a professional basketball veteran of the European league where he was Rookie-of-the-Year. "It's been an exciting project for me," says Nick. "My goal is to give every young person the opportunity to experience first-hand the benefits of being physically fit."
Together, these two professional athletes are taking on the sedentary lifestyles and obesity trend of today's youth. "It's an epidemic," they warn their audiences. Reassuringly, George adds, "There's never been a better time to turn things around." He and Nick are making the rounds, talking about physical fitness with young men and women. Whenever anyone asks, the two are always glad to demonstrate their trademark exercise program. What brings the biggest smile to George's face is when one of the young people he's working with says, "You rock, big man. Thanks!"
