Native Wisdom-Holder, Ohki Simine Forest, Announces Website Renewal

Santa Fe, NM (PressExposure) December 23, 2013 -- Esteemed spiritual teacher's new website features indigenous shamanic teachings from the Red Lodge.

Of Canadian Mohawk descent, Ohki Simine Forest is a vision-holder and spiritual teacher who has lived in Chiapas, Mexico since 1985 where she supports Maya social justice projects and fosters the renewal of traditional Native spirituality. Trained and initiated by Maya, Canadian and Mongolian shamans, she has taught a unified practice of ancient Native Medicine Wheel ways in North America and Mexico for 30 years. She is the author of Dreaming the Council Ways: True Native Teachings from the Red Lodge, and a contributor to Original Instructions: Indigenous Teachings for a Sustainable Future which includes essays from John Mohawk, Paula Gunn Allen, Winona LaDuke, John Trudell & Oren Lyons.

Her recently renovated website, enhanced by spectacular photos by her daughter, is a serene and illuminating rest stop on the information highway. You can find information there about Ohki's teaching visits to the U.S., her three decades of social justice work in Chiapas, and excerpts from her book, Dreaming the Council Ways: True Native Teachings from the Red Lodge.

Her vision is to assist in healing the First Wound of the Americas by helping manifest the return of ancient Rainbow Warrior ways, ways told of by indigenous traditions worldwide. The First Wound of the Americas is the result of more than 500 years of aggressive attempts to exterminate Red people in the Americas and destroy their sacred Earth wisdom. Ohki offers a vital path for this important healing through her teachings on how to manifest ancient Council Ways that are based on Medicine Wheel ways, offering the promise of peace through unity of consciousness. The Medicine ways of the Rainbow Warriors are universal teachings connecting all people to the language of deep emotions and true feelings. "We all share the same cry, fears and suffering, whether we are from China or Canada. Thus, humanity's destiny is to become True Humans living the great vision that our sacred Mother Earth dreams for us," Forest recounts. "To become a True Human is to strive with all our hearts to gain our spiritual totality." Her website features in-depth interviews and articles on vital aspects of the wisdom lineage she carries.

Ohki's teachings on the Medicine Wheel Ways and Spiritual Warriorship trainings bring an indigenous process of learning that powerfully shifts cultural perspectives, fosters spiritual transformation and helps students of all cultures assume greater responsibility, respect and gratitude for the forces of the universe. In order to better assist with this essential purpose, Ohki has created Medicine Centers that support the renewal of indigenous spirituality and Native teachings, and heal the First Wound of the Americas. "Now, with the prophesized return of Medicine Wheel and Earth ways, these Centers provide much needed islands of healing, gathering and spiritual communion," Ohki reports.
