New Website Helps Entrepreneurs Succeed the FIRST Time

Colorado Springs, Colorado (PressExposure) May 31, 2011 -- Good news: entrepreneurship is surging in America and creating new jobs. Carl Schramm, Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation president and CEO, recently reported that “On average, one-year-old businesses create nearly one million new jobs a year, while 10-year-old firms generate just 300,000.”

Sad news: many of the jobs created by business startups will not survive because most new businesses lack the crucial knowledge and tools to succeed.

Now, a website has been launched that offers tools developed by a team with decades of experience in entrepreneurship, starting businesses, and coaching to help aspiring entrepreneurs beat the learning curve and succeed with their FIRST startup business.

The StartUp Path™ website ( offers practical knowledge about starting a business at an affordable price. Online features include: On-demand video courses from entrepreneurial experts, business assessment tools, interviews with successful business owners, downloadable startup tools and an entrepreneurship blog.

The website was the idea of experienced entrepreneur Jim Holley, who invented dozens of products and sold them in major markets worldwide. “Thinking back on everything I learned on my own startup journey, I decided to collect and share wisdom from others who started different businesses,” says Holley. “Successful entrepreneurs spend years perfecting their skills. At The StartUp Path™, we are teaching success by offering real experience from real entrepreneurs.”

Working with Holley is Dr. Tom Duening, a noted author and currently the director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and associate professor of management in the College of Business at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Duening feels the website’s mission of helping new businesses succeed is in line with the Obama administration’s “Start Up America” initiative. “If we want to dig out of this lingering jobs recession, we have to train, encourage and assist startup ventures in our community and country,” says Duening. “I believe that anyone can be an entrepreneur. All they need is a little help to succeed. These new online tools can provide that help.”
