Magnolia, Texas (PressExposure) August 19, 2010 -- Distal Industries, LLC, A Texas company, has announced the release of the Trout Stream GPS iPhone application, which helps anglers know exactly where to park and fish on America's top trout streams.
Trout Stream GPS is free to download, and fly fishing maps are available for purchase within the application. These highly detailed maps allow anglers to maximize their time on the water and locate fly fishing-related landmarks on various rivers and streams nationwide.
"We are thrilled to release this latest application to help anglers make the most of their fly fishing trips," said David Colvin, founder of Distal Industries. "Trout Stream GPS allows for on-stream navigation, significantly reducing the amount of time it takes to find the best fishing spots."
Using the GPS capabilities of their iPhones, users can easily generate driving directions from their current location to specific landmarks. By immediately knowing the right place to park, they can reach their destinations faster and spend more time on the water fishing.
The application also gives directions to nearby towns and campgrounds, as well as informs users of special fishing regulations that are needed in certain areas.
"We have already had a tremendous response from Trout Stream GPS users, who say that our maps are high-quality and extremely helpful," Colvin said. "With technology like this, we can really improve on the fly fishing experience for anglers."
The application currently has 39 maps available in Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Michigan, Montana, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Wisconsin and Utah, with more to come. The company's goal is to produce 100 maps by the end of the year for trout streams across the USA.
