Northwest Ergonomic Designer Becomes Member Of Renowned Human Factors And Ergonomic Society

Bainbridge Island, Washington (PressExposure) April 08, 2011 -- Bryan Dressler, an internationally known ergonomic designer from Seattle, Washington, has announced his enrollment as a member of the Human Factors and Ergonomic Society (HFES). Membership allows Dressler access to the most up to date information available regarding human function and the interaction between man, environment and technology.

HFES emerged out of the larger human factors and ergonomic movement which began in the early fifties. A rise in technological advancement stemming from both of the World Wars prompted many in the design and manufacturing industry to begin consideration of human practicality when creating product. The movement quickly took flight and gained legitimacy through the publication of articles, journals, and the establishment of organizations such as HFES.

Dressler worked side by side with Alvin R. Tilley at Henry Dreyfuss Associates during the Eighties. Tilley, in a pioneering effort during 1952, generated the quintessential Human Factor diagrams which were and are still used in architectural and design manuals to this day. Henry Dreyfuss Associates is still a leader in the Human Factors and Ergonomic movement.

Access to an online library of ergonomic information through HFES empowers members like Dressler to work on a wider variety of projects with more accurate information. Multiple avenues of technical information pertaining to a precise area of human function allow members to create products with better ergonomic function.

Networking between professionals in the industry through HFES allows for open lines of communication between consumers, critics, and creators of product. Through personal experience of HFES members alone, there is an incalculable amount of knowledge and resource that can be tapped into through proper use of human networking.

Past projects with DuPont, The Boeing Company, Britax Health Tecna and others makes Dressler a perfect addition to the HFE Society. With a wide range of specialties including conceptualization, drafting, rendering, technical consulting, safety analysis, and more Dressler has much to offer as well as gain from membership.
