Los Angeles, CA (PressExposure) August 12, 2009 -- Pro gay marriage groups all over California are debating whether to try to reverse Prop 8 in 2010 or 2012 and Nuera Network (www.nueranetwork.com) is proud to announce their full support of a bid for a reversal.
Gay marriage has been at the crux of human rights debate across the USA for many years and last year it came very close to being passed with the Prop 8 amendment to the state constitution banning gay marriage passed, 52% to 48%. Many gay rights groups were upset to see it lost in such a close vote but it also gives them hope for future votes.
We asked Dennis Richardson of Nuera how the company plans to help, his reply was presented with much vigor; "We have always supported gay marriage and gay rights because we feel gay people deserve all the same rights and benefits as heterosexual couples enjoy". "When we see this type of blatant trampling of our rights we speak up, very publicly for all those being held back from enjoying their lives to the fullest".
California's same-sex marriage advocates have heard from all-sides on this issue, their pollsters, political consultants, and they've heard from activists. Now they need to decide whether to try to reverse Proposition 8, the anti-gay marriage constitutional amendment adopted last November, in 2010 or in 2012.
The advocates' pollsters take is that 2012 is a slightly better year in which to do a gay marriage initiative than 2010, due to projected higher turnout of more Democratic voters in a presidential election. They're less pronounced, however, in the view that 2012 is preferable to 2010 than are the two leading public pollsters remaining in the state: Field Poll director Mark di Camillo and Public Policy Institute of California poll director Mark Baldassare.
Nuera is not alone as many gay activist group intend to be heard in the coming weeks as the issue of going after a reversal is heard in the court of public opinion. It really seems the day is close at-hand where gay rights will finally catch up to those of the rest - as are the hopes of groups like Nuera Network.
