San Francisco, CA (PressExposure) April 23, 2009 -- Loo-Lee.com â an online cell phone directory has reached a major milestone recently hitting past the 3,000 mark in registered users. The most amazing thing about this feat is the fact that they started back in mid January with around 10 members. With their member list growing over 1000% of their normal size in the course of just 3 months, Loo-Leeâs progress in being the worldâs largest mobile phone book is off to a fantastic start.
Taken from Loo-Leeâs blog, Justin McGill, who is one of the three creators of Loo-Lee, writes, â2009 should be a fun year for Loo-Lee. Weâre looking to continue to develop the Loo-Lee system and you can take part in its growth.â
Justin McGill along with two other people â Lior Nuchi and Gal Samuel, teamed up to make a single cell phone directory service where registered users can fill up their cell phone numbers along with other relevant information like e-mail addresses and instant messenger IDâs. This information may be optionally displayed in the public, visible within the network while restricting it to registered users, or certain people approved by the user. Groups can also be created that serve as smaller centers where people within the group can exchange personal information. Loo-Lee is also open to businesses that want to share their contact information with them.
Although it has similar features to other social networking websites, Loo-Lee remains unique by emphasizing phone numbers and personal contact information as the primary fields to fill up. It is a service available worldwide with its inclusion of Google Translateâs gadget that can translate the site into a number of languages. There is also a blog that announces site-related updates as well as latest technology news in the mobile industry.
The creators of Loo-Lee have some plans that users can expect within the year to further attract new people in using the free directory services that they offer. One of the planned features enables the Loo-Lee service to be accessed via mobile phone where cell numbers can be downloaded directly to the phone book. Advertisers will also have the chance to display ads for all registered members to see in the future. Anyone can check out the blog for further announcements regarding these features.
The existing members are quite active due to the serviceâs high respect to privacy and ease of sharing information to the right people. Loo-Lee strays away from the common social networking sites by offering fewer and more direct features, which is responsible for its huge growth in the past months.
