Mumbai, Maharashtra India (PressExposure) April 08, 2011 -- PLG Power has lined up an impressive number of solar projects across the solar value chain. The company has signed the Power purchase agreement (PPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) for 40 MW of Solar PV projects under the state policy. Of this first phase of 10 MW is likely to be connected shortly and all four phases of 40 MW will be completed by the end of this financial year.
Continuing its expansion in power Sector PLG Power Limited as a Turnkey EPC (Engineering procurement and construction) service provider has signed the EPC agreement for setting up a 20 MW and 10 MW of grid connected solar power plant in the state of Gujarat, with Zamil from Saudi Arabia and Indowind Energy Limited.
As per the increasing demand of Solar power in the world Market, PLG power Limited is targeting 200 MW of EPC contracts, 100 MW in Uttar Pradesh, 20 MW in West Bengal, 10 MW in Rajasthan and the remaining 70 MW in the other states of the country in the year 2011-12, for the year 2011 PLG has 100 MW of additional EPC contracts into the consideration with the EPC developers.
Commenting on the development Mr. Punit K. Goel - CEO and MD of PLG Power Limited said that assuming the Solar Power will be 1 GW market; PLG believes that a huge EPC market opportunity exists in the solar power space. Solar sector has become a very competitive market now but very few players have turnkey EPC services right from designing to execution of the grid connected solar power plant.
He further added, "We expect that our process knowledge, strong financial base, expertise in multiple technologies, experienced manpower and strong international presence will make us the leading EPC player providing end to end solutions." PLG is coming up with 60 MW of world class state of the art facilities for Solar PV cells in the state of Maharashtra and also expanding its existing manufacturing capabilities.
