Philadelphia, PA (PressExposure) June 01, 2009 -- On Saturday Jun 6, 2009 the Cardiovascular Institute (CVI) of Pennsylvania will celebrate 10 years of service at the annual CVI Ball. The event will take place at 7:00pm at the Lowes Philadelphia Hotel, and local Philadelphia jazz band Second Vision will be providing music and entertainment. Second Vision is a professional, nine-piece band known for performing at special events throughout Philadelphia, New Jersey, New York, Delaware and the surrounding areas. The band is excited to be a part of the CVI celebration and fully supports the organization's efforts to inform and educate the community about the dangers of cardiovascular disease.
"Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death and disability in America affecting more people than all other causes of morbidity and mortality combined," said Scott Hessen MD, President of CVI.
CVI is a local not for profit organization whose mission is to positively impact cardiovascular health in the Delaware Valley. CVI frequently organizes community-based programs aimed at promoting cardiovascular risk factor awareness to patients, their families and the general public. CVI also provides continuing medical education opportunities for physicians and other allied health care professionals in an effort to ensure that they have the most up to date information on diagnosis, treatment and prevention against cardiovascular disease.
