Sanger Foundation assists student shot at Deer Creek school in Denver

Lakewood, CO (PressExposure) April 24, 2011 -- We all remember the Deer Creek Middle School shootings in February of 2010. One of our board members heard about a fundraiser on local radio station 103.5 Fox, contacted the radio station, and then ultimately contacted the mother of young Matt who was one of the shooting victims. Although Matt is fully recovered from his physical injuries the family was in dire need of some assistance because of shortfalls in insurance coverage and income of this single parent family. The families problems were large, approximately $120,000 past due, impatient creditors and a probable bankruptcy in the balance. Three of the Sanger Foundation’s Board members used their hard work, business expertise and determination to help get this family out from under this huge burden. The Sanger Foundation between negotiation and anonymous donations made of up to $15,000 from a single source and with the help of the Fox 103.5 radio station, Shortline Subaru were able to reduce the families’ obligations to zero. Now the family can get on with rebuilding their lives after this tragic event without the pressure of these tremendous financial obligations.

As always Sanger Foundation is in search of other individuals and/or families that they can help and that fall into the 501c3 foundations main goals and objectives. The foundation was formed to fill a gap for individuals facing serious medical needs with inadequate personal resources to meet that need. To assist individuals from the general public with extraordinary medical expenses who are in a substantial and dire financial situation and to provide relief for the poor and distressed or the underprivileged by assisting in making available appropriate medical care to individuals with that financial need. In order to achieve such a noble endeavor, the Foundation is undertaking their biggest fundraiser event yet, which is an Old Hollywood themed Gala which will be held on November 4, 2011 at Sherman Street Event Center in downtown Denver.

The foundation is looking for corporate and individual sponsors to make the fundraiser a success through donations of products, monetary donation and the donation of services to promote the event and for the silent or live auctions that evening. Volunteers for phone calls, set up of the silent and live auction are also needed. The Foundation only uses 2% of all proceeds for admin costs. A Memory Lane Event in Denver Colorado has donated over $13,000 in event planning, coordinating services and their time to assist the foundation with the event which has all of the appearances of being the event of the year. With your help The Sanger Foundation will be able to ensure that others in similar circumstances can get the medical help they need. All of us are eternally grateful for your generosity. You can help by visiting the event through the Black Tie Colorado website and either donating or pre-registering to attend at
