School Speaker Discovers The Root Cause Of Bullying, Obsessive Compulsions And All Addictions

Thornhill, Canada (PressExposure) September 05, 2009 -- The destructive behavior or addiction that a person demonstrates is not the real problem. It is simply a symptom of the problem.

The real problem is rooted deeper, in the addict’s hopeless view of the world, in the belief that there is something wrong with them and that they are a victim of something or someone else. This is the fundamental cause of the pain that leads someone to escape into some form of addiction, compulsion or destructive habit.

As a former addict and addictions expert, Scott Gallagher has met with and worked with many addicts over the years. All of them, without exception, had one thing in common. They all saw themselves as a victim.

This view begins when a person misinterprets an event in his or her life in a way that causes them to believe that there is something wrong with them. It doesn’t necessarily need to be anything tragic or dramatic.

From that point on, their minds worked unconsciously to confirm that negative opinion of themselves. They chose not to take responsibility for themselves and instead try to find a way to escape the pain caused by their view of the world – a view which they created! This point of view sheds a whole new light into why people get addicted or how teens become bullies.

Scott’s program for schools can give the power back to the mind of the young man or woman who has misinterpreted his or her value and relationship to the world.

His program focuses on the power of choice, and replacing destructive habits with healthy habits. Habits of thought, feeling and action. This approach enabled Scott to recover from numerous destructive habits, compulsions and addictions, and he sees the same ideas helping students he works with every day.

Scott Gallagher’s school program The Power of Choice begins with a keynote assembly and is followed by How to Break a Bad Habit Seminar, a Healthy Habits Workshop, which results in a 28 day Healthy Habit Program in the school. More information on the program can be found on []
