Osbaston, United Kingdom (PressExposure) July 25, 2011 -- The Scottish Premier League season kicks off when Rangers play Hearts on Saturday 23 July, while Celtic travel to Hibernian on Sunday 24 July.
A little over two months ago, Rangers claimed the 2011 SPL title with a thumping 5-1 victory at Kilmarnock, with Walter Smith's team winning nine of their final ten matches to ensure that they finished top of the table by a solitary point.
It is Ally McCoist who takes the managerial reins for the 2011/12 campaign which begins this weekend when the Gers play Heart of Midlothian and the home side are naturally strong favourites to get off to a flying start.
Meanwhile, Celtic have decided that Neil Lennon is the man to take the club forward next season despite the manager having been involved in several high-profile incidents last term, including touchline clashes during the Old Firm matches.
Lennon takes his Bhoys to Easter Road on Sunday for a match against a Hibernian side that struggled badly under Colin Calderwood last season and Celtic will be confident of making a winning start as they bid to beat arch-rivals Rangers this time around.
Bet365 will be live streaming four Scottish Premier League matches this weekend, including the matches involving Celtic and Rangers. There will also be a chance for bet365 customers to watch the Saturday afternoon match between Aberdeen v St Johnstone, as well as the clash between Dunfermline and St Mirren on Monday.

Sunday 24th July 2011

The Scottish Premier League odds suggest that it will once again be tightly-fought encounter between Celtic and Rangers, with most bookmakers giving slight preference to the green and white half of Glasgow despite missing out on the title last season. After all, few people could foresee that they would slip up against Inverness towards the end of the campaign.
Naturally, the bookies will be falling over themselves to offer Scottish Premier League betting opportunities next season, including Live In-Play betting on every match which means you can place your bets after the game has kicked off.
Bettingpro will be providing Scottish Premier League tips throughout the season, with the preference currently being for Nikica Jelavic to finish as top scorer in the SPL rather than Celtic's Gary Hooper, although perhaps Dundee United's David Goodwillie can ensure the strange prospect of someone from outside the Old Firm winning the award.
