Shayne Tarrance Selected as SEPHIAtm Featured Professional

Concord, NH (PressExposure) September 16, 2009 -- Care Seeker LLC has announced the September 2009 featured professional for SEPHIA’s Choice, the search engine for pelvic health information and associates. Shayne Tarrance was selected based on her passion for helping her patients overcome their health conditions. As the featured professional, Shayne’s thirteen years of physical therapy experience is highlighted on the website

"(I love) being able to spend one-on-one time with my patients and truly making a difference in the quality of life of the patients that I see," says Tarrance. "I have seen many patients who have experienced a huge loss in their life with the inability to be intimate with their partner. After a few sessions, their pain is gone and knowing that I have changed their lives in a positive way gives me complete satisfaction and confirmation of my career choice."

Ms. Tarrance has thirteen years experience as a physical therapist with over ten years focused on pelvic health. Her pelvic health focus stemmed from her own inability to control her bladder, which she has overcome. She graduated from the University of Central Florida in 1996 and currently works out of her own practice, Pelvic Rehabilitation of Tampa, where she treats patients who are experiencing pelvic floor problems ranging from loss of bladder or bowel control to vaginal pain that may be affecting intimacy. Ms. Tarrance treats both men and women with a variety of bladder, vaginal and prostate issues. Pelvic Rehabilitation of Tampa has a mission to "improve the quality of life one day at a time". The clinic is hands-on with a focus on strategies that an individual can perform independently. Staff members focus on connective tissue issues as well as musculoskeletal problems, and pay special attention to the impact that soft tissue problems can cause within the vagina and rectum.

Ms. Tarrance recently passed the board certification to become a Women’s Certified Specialist (WCS) through the American Physical Therapy Association. She is the only physical therapist in the Tampa Bay area with this certification and among only sixty-five therapists across the nation to hold this honor. Additionally, she is biofeedback certified in the management of pelvic floor disorders. Ms. Tarrance is also the Florida state representative for the Women’s health section of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

Ms. Tarrance is very passionate about her work and wants all those suffering from pelvic pain to know that "there is a non-surgical, non-medication way to deal with incontinence and pelvic pain. These are not problems that you have to live with any longer."
