Na, WA Australia (PressExposure) October 01, 2006 -- Sonya Green has just been nominated for The Just Plain Folks music awards for Best Meditation album 2006.
Sonya is a Western Australian author who co-incidentally released her book Reinventing Myself this week. Her hugely popular website of the same name was originally a hobby and a creative outlet. Sonya said this week she was 'gob-smacked' at the interest and success she has generated.
"I didn't know anything about the award nomination until I was contacted by Just Plain Folks asking if I would be attending the awards in the U.S."
The album was picked up by an independent label called CDbaby. They arranged distribution through over 2000 outlets worldwide and listed it on most of the internet download sites. The response and feedback has been phenomenal and I now receive emails from around the world from people telling me how much they love the meditations.
The album has 3 tracks and each one is approx 20 mins long. Each track is a guided meditation with the emphasis on healing. Sonya's clear, hypnotic and deeply relaxing voice is backed by Mike Rowland's Fairy Ring music.
The first track is a highly visual meditation using symbology and imagery which takes the listener on a magical and mystical journey with dolphins into a crystal cave. Many describe it as a beautiful, blissful experience and comment that they feel serene and energised for days after.
The second and third tracks are favoured by yoga teachers, Reiki masters and healers in many alternative modalities. Both these meditations help to release negative habits, release emotional and physical distress and work towards increasing inner joy and a greater connection to inner wisdom and intuition.
