TN & NC Residents Save Hundreds on Health Insurance Premiums

Johnson City, TN (PressExposure) June 29, 2009 -- A Johnson City, TN family reduced their health insurance premiums over $1000 per year by making a few adjustments. The couple, who have two children, were finding it difficult to pay the $635 per month premium with their current insurance company. Carl Broch, a self-employed electrician, found it hard to believe his health insurance premium was more than the family's monthly mortgage payment.

Mr. Broch has high cholestrol that is well controlled with medication. He discovered his insurance company had given him a 40% rate up because of this condition. He contacted a local independent insurance agent who found a company that did not use a rate up since his condition was under control. He also changed his yearly deductible from $2500 to $5000. His monthly premium of $635 now became $420.

Students at a local private college also received relief from high insurance premiums. By having their agent search different insurance companies and plans for them, students were able to reduce monthly premiums 30% and still have the benefits they needed.

Toni King, The Insurance Help in Johnson City, says people are unaware of little changes that can really reduce premiums. "Families need to take control of their insurance costs. An independent agent can search for the right match of client and insurance company to help keep costs down. Searching online for insurance quotes does not give the actual premium in a lot of cases. Using an agent will save time and money."
